This is the third and final video in a series of three videos where I'm discussing the nine steps to striking a home run as a independent artist. These are ways to be successful as independent artist. If you have not gone over my first two videos, do that. Part one and part two. Those will give you the first six steps.
This is step number seven. Go ahead and drop that EP. Fare enough. You got songs ready for an EP. Now it's time to drop it. You let everybody know about it through your email, your social media, your family, your friends, and your shows. Drop the EP.
Next step. This is step eight. Now is the time that you don't want to start taking every gig. Now is the time to be selective. You have built up a following because you were great. You got shows and you attracted people because of your cover songs. You introduce yourself through your original songs. You have dropped your project and your EP and the crowd is loving you. So now you don't want to take every gig. You want to be selective and choose the best gigs that you think is going to pay off more in the long run. Not short run, but long run. Think long run, because you're still in the beginning stage.
This is the final step, and this is the, probably the easiest step because you've already gotten going right? This is step nine. You want to keep up your momentum. All that momentum you've built up from practicing to the open mics to now your own shows with original songs, keep up that momentum. Keep pushing through that momentum and really, you'll be on top of the game, on top of your local sceen, whatever in a few months. Few months to a year. That's all it takes if you follow that approach. If you follow all nine of those steps to the T, you'll get there in a year or less. I guarantee that. I guarantee it.
So, I hope you guys have enjoyed that and I hope that really helps you do what a lot of you guys want to do. Have been doing. Struggling to do. Just regroup, go over those other two videos, go over all the steps, and just get to work. One year's time, you'll be doing it and yeah we'll see you at the top. Leave your feedback below, leave some comments for me. Let me know... let me know how you're doing when you're putting these things to the test. Just to show everybody else out there in the world that it actually does work. I really want you to stay bless and I hope everything is on the up and up from here. Yall stay tuned in to So Fo Real Beats, Real Beats for Real Artist.
