If you've followed our Music Help blogs over the past month, you should now be fully aware of the secrets to creating opportunities from nothing. So now it's showtime.. And I'm going to give you a few bonus tips to do when your opportunity of fame comes:
Don't be late! Dress for the occasion.. In uniform, but don't try to out-dress whoever the lead is (unless you are the lead). Have someone get plenty of pics and video -- these are valuable marketing assets to get even bigger opportunities in the future… and that's what you do want to post on social media =) Stay focused… don't let anything outside of your task distract you… not a drama queen, not a fussy friend, a non-understanding family member.. Cut them off for that time period. They'll be ok while you take advantage of the opportunity you're prepared for your entire life. Act professional.. Don't act like a starry-eyed kid who has never seen so many people in your life. They're people..with the same insecurities you think you have. Life is too short to worry about that.. Your dream is too important for that. Be loose.. But be respectful. Respect the people in authority.. Respect time itself.. Usually it's an ensemble of activity happening all at once for everything to go just right. Let people do their jobs.. while you focus on yours. Last but not least.. Have Fun!
If you have backstage area (for bigger events), after the show, take advantage of everyone's "emotional high"... meet and greet. Because the next (even bigger) opportunity could be a handshake away.
