This is step three of vocal exercises. First step was breathing.Practice your breathing. Step two was practicing your posture. Now, step three is you want to work on relaxing your muscles. You don't want to be tense in any areas really while you're singing. You want all your energy to be just for those vocal chords that you use to sing.
A lot of beginning vocalist will tense their face up. They'll be like you know make all kinds of weird faces and stuff while they're singing but the face muscles are not use for singing. Others will tense their shoulders up. They'll pinch up like that or try to get those notes out by doing that. But again, you don't use your shoulders, you don't use you upper chest or anything for singing. You just want to relax let your shoulders hang down. Don't tense up your stomach to much.
Just stay really nice and relax. Try to keep your neck muscles relax too and just focus all your energy into your lungs, your breathing, and also in your diaphram aldo and then your throat your vocal chords. So stay nice and relax, don't tense up, just breath, and just sing and you'll sound real good. step four in the next video.
