Troubleshooting

I purchased a license. Where is the download link?

You have three options... download from the page you are transferred to after your transaction completes (if you're logged in), download from the email receipt sent, or login / signup and download from your orders page. If you did not receive your email receipt, please check your "Junk", "Spam", or "Promotions" folder - there's a 99% chance it landed there if you don't see it. Add our email address to your safe list.

To make sure you receive our emails in the future, add MYPRODUCER [at - @] [[sfrbeats.com]] to your address book. (Sorry for the jargled mess... it's spam protection!

Most people receive our e-mail within a few minutes. If you have not received a message with a download link within 15 minutes of your purchase, please contact us. We will rectify the situation as quickly as possible.

I purchased a license and the Beats still have the SFR Beats voiceover on it!

You might be listening to a beat that intentially has some vocals in the beginning to add "spice" to the beat, like what you hear in many "Mike Will Made It" beats, "Timbaland" beats, "Swizz Beats", etc... They are positioned in a way that will not affect the outcome of your product. However, if the track has a vocal tag throughout the beat, that is an error and we will fix it! Just shoot us an email.

I paid for a license but there is an extra small fee on my credit card statement. Why?

It could be local sales tax, or sometimes your bank will charge extra small fees, for example if you are an international customer. We never charge or receive any additional fees; the total amount you see on your screen when you purchase our products is the amount we receive (minus our own payment processor expenses).

How do I cancel my monthly payments (subscription) for Exclusive Rent?

Go to your orders page and click on the order with the license you want to cancel.  Then above the list of items you ordered on the right hand side, click the link that says "Cancel Rents".  Note the beat will be released immediately back onto the website for sale and your license to use it will expire, so be sure this is what you want.

I received a notice from YouTube that the Beats I licensed from SFR Beats belongs to a third party. What do I do?

First, we apologize if this happens to you. We assure you that all of our Beats are 100% copyright clear. Using our Beats with a purchased license is 100% legal, and you are not doing anything wrong.

Unfortunately, false or mistaken copyright claims are a known issue with YouTube and the independent artist community. The most efficient response is to simply counter the claim with your SFR Beats license. The claim will then be dropped. You can read more about making a counter notification here

Please note that your SFR Beats license does NOT allow you to upload your project to YouTube’s Content ID system unless you purchased an Exclusive License. SFR Beats retains ownership of the recording. Due to the nature of YouTube’s content recognition software, uploading SFR Beats to Content ID will cause mistaken copyright claims for other users and for your future projects, and constitutes a violation of our licensing terms.

If you have more questions about the YouTube claim process, please contact us.

I'm trying to register my songs and need your PRO affiliation... what is it?

Remember, you don't have to list us on your songs since we're royalty-free, but if you'd like to list us or have a special requirement where you have to list us, it is as follows:

ASCAP [Composer] IPI# 446305664 "SO FO REAL"
ASCAP [Publisher] IPI# 537807234 "SO FO REAL PRODUCTIONS, LLC".

Royalty Free Beats

What are royalty free beats?

Beats purchased from the SFR Beats production Beats library are royalty free. This means that after paying a one-time fee, you can use the Beats you’ve purchased as many times as you wish for as long as you like in accordance with the terms stated in your license agreement. You never have to pay us any additional license fees based on usage.

Royalty free does not mean copyright free.

How am I allowed to use the Beats I license from SFR Beats?

We offer 2 simple Beats license options:

The Exclusive License all commercial projects, noncommercial projects, online web projects, podcasts and mixtapes, and personal projects like weddings, community events, etc., and also includes revenue-generating web and local / regional projects, including advertisements, radio play, physical and digital distribution, points of sale / industrial use, and both indie and national film. There is no limit to the scope of your project at this time. You can use the beat in a blockbuster Steven Spielberg movie for the same price as the customer needing a song for his mom's birthday. Walmart doesn't discriminate depending on the customer who walks through the door... why should we?

Lease (Nonexclusive License) same as the Exclusive License except it's "Nonexlcusive", meaning more than one can purchase the same beat.

Both licenses can be used for as many projects as you like in perpetuity.

Please see our license page for more details. If you are unsure of which license is right for your needs, simply contact us.

Are there restrictions on how I use Beats obtained from SFR Beats?

A few, yes. The license permits usage of the Beats in a personal or professional context for yourself, your clients or your employer. SFR Beats may not be sold by itself, transferred, bartered, traded, shared, leased, or given away to any other party and the license may not be subleased to a third party. Our Beats cannot be resold except to the extent that is embedded in your own work as part of a finished end product. You may not market the Beats as your own even if you add other instruments or a voice to the Beats unless that instrument or voice takes a lead artistic role for the purposes of broadcast and distribution. If you have a situation where a third party needs to take interest in the license, contact us.

The above also applies to any Beats SFR Beats may offer free of charge on our website, including watermarked previews.

If you are unsure whether the usage you are entertaining falls under our limitations of use, please contact us.

How soon do I receive the Beats I license from SFR Beats?

Instantly! As soon as your transaction has been processed you will immediately be transferred to your download page if your logged in! Additionally, we automatically send your downloads to the e-mail address you’ve provided. If you did not receive the download instructions by e-mail, please check your "Junk" or "Spam" folder - it may have landed there. If you have signed up for an account on our website, you can also retrieve the download from your account 24-7-365. Emailed downloads expire after 24 hours so download immediately or log in to retrieve your orders and downloads at a later time.

Do the Beats I buy belong to me?

The license for use does, yes. The copyright, no. You do not actually own the Beats.. you own the license to the beat. The copyright to the Beats always remains the property of the composer. Purchasing a license allows you to use the Beats for your projects and purposes in accordance with the license agreement, which is sufficient in all circumstances of use.

Can I purchase Beats from your site, sing my song or play guitar over it and distribute my album?

Yes... for both profit and non-profit projects. Again there are no limits to sales, and all licenses are royalty-free!

Can I buy SFR Beats anywhere else?

No!! And if you catch someone doing that outside of our website, they're a fraud!! (You will realize that once you ask for the trackouts! LOL) All of our Beats have been created by our team of gifted professional musicians and composers exclusively for SFR Beats over 23 years now! This includes popular Beat genres as well as remakes of well-known public domain music such as Christmas carols and nursery rhyme songs. In these cases, the original copyright has expired and the specific recording and adaptation performed by our musicians is unique. We own the copyright for all our adaptations and recordings.

Can I return a Beats file and get a refund?

Once you have purchased and downloaded a Beats file, SFR Beats cannot offer a refund unless a technical error has occurred. However, we can institute credit in certain instances. Our goal is a satisfied customer so contact for any issues.

Technical

What is a Full Track?

A Full Track is a complete musical mix with an introduction and an ending. Track lengths vary and may be as short as 20 seconds or as long as 10 minutes. 95% of our Full Tracks average around 4 minutes. You can hear the entire Beat before purchase.

In what type of file format will the Beats be sent to me?

After you purchase a license from our site, you have options to download the file in great quality 24-bit WAV format as well as in 320KPS MP3 format for complete flexibility... Sometimes we may have to manually upload the WAV after your order (takes 1 - 2 business days after purchase). Remember, the WAV is the best quality, and 24-bit WAV is 50% better quality than 16-bit WAV!

Some customers may choose to use the broadcast quality .wav sound files for television or radio projects as well as for DVDs or CD-ROMs. However, many customers do need the compressed MP3 version for web-based projects, such as background Beats for a website.

What you hear when previewing Beats on https://sfrbeats.com is compressed lower quality MP3 (older tracks are around 64KPS and newer tracks are around 192 KPS).

Some beats have vocal tags in them..will it still be present after I purchase a license?

Some are tastefully present in the intro like what you hear in popular commercial songs today ("Ear Drummers", "Mike Will Made It", etc). But there will not any voiceovers present throughout the beat or in a manner that would interfere with your vocals. The https://sfrbeats.com voiceover tag throughout the beat may only be present in the Beats that you preview. After you purchase a license, you will be able to download the copy ready for recording.

Security

Is it safe to make a purchase on your website?

We fully understand the need for security when making online purchases. SFR Beats uses a state-of-the-art encrypted processing system. Your credit card information is used only by our 3rd-party trusted banker, BrainTree, owned by Paypal, and is processed on a separate, secure server.

Please see our privacy policy for more information.

Will SFR Beats give, share or sell my e-mail address and personal contact information to anyone?

No! SFR Beats respects your privacy and will not share, give, rent or sell the e-mail addresses or personal contact information of our clients to any other party. In addition, SFR Beats will only send information and e-mails to customers who have expressly given us permission to do so.

If you have not found your answer on our FAQ, please contact us and we will be glad to answer your inquiries.
